Licensed wildlife rehabilitation for injured and orphaned mammals and birds in Northern New York — part of the Heron Bay Cliffs Rescue & Rehab mission.
Heron Bay Cliffs Wildlife Rescue is a licensed New York State wildlife rehabilitation operation. We care for injured, orphaned, and displaced wild mammals and birds with the goal of returning them to the wild. We are part of the broader Heron Bay Cliffs Rescue & Rehab nonprofit — the same land, the same people, the same mission of protecting life.
Songbirds, raptors, waterfowl, and other wild birds found injured or orphaned. We provide triage, feeding, and recovery care.
Squirrels, rabbits, opossums, raccoons, fawns, and other native mammals needing rehabilitation before release.
Our goal is always return to the wild. Animals are rehabilitated until they can survive independently, then released on or near our sanctuary property.
A purpose-built 24×40 timberframe Wildlife Rehab & Rescue Center is our next major project. This building will transform our capacity to help more animals.
Right now, our wildlife rehabilitation work is limited by the absence of a dedicated facility. Every animal we take in competes for space with our shepherd rescue operations. To do this work properly — and expand to help more animals — we need to build.
The planned 24×40 timberframe Wildlife Rehab & Rescue Center will be constructed on our Northern New York sanctuary property. It will serve as a full rehabilitation facility for injured and orphaned wildlife, with proper housing, recovery areas, and release infrastructure.
This building will be funded entirely through donations and fundraising. Every dollar donated to this campaign goes toward design, materials, and construction.

If you've found an injured, orphaned, or distressed wild mammal or bird in Northern New York, reach out using the form. Provide as much detail as you can about the animal's species, condition, and location.
We are a small operation and our intake capacity may be limited at any given time. We will respond as quickly as possible and help connect you with other licensed rehabilitators in the region if we cannot take the animal ourselves.
Note: Our dedicated Wildlife Rehab & Rescue Center is not yet built. Until that facility is operational, intake is handled case by case. Contacting us first is essential.
